Where We Started — Where We’re Going
Foundation & Understanding the Market
Katpot Systems began in 1998 when our founder, Mr. Sudhir Katkar, started building pilot testing machines from his home for textile and adhesive tape manufacturers. By working directly with industry users, we understood the real challenges in tape, label, film, and coating quality testing. This helped us identify a major gap in affordable, accurate and standardized testing instruments in India.
Technology Upgrade & First Office
During this phase, we introduced embedded systems, computerised software, and accurate digital reporting in our machines. Our machines became smarter, easier to operate, and more reliable for QA and R&D teams. As the customer base grew, we moved from a home setup to our first office and expanded our mechanical and electronics capabilities.
Advanced R&D, Custom Solutions & Benchmarking with Global Quality
We strengthened our R&D team, expanded our electronics department, and entered new domains such as dataloggers through collaboration with Dynalab Weathertech.
Our director began comparing our machines side-by-side with German equipment, ensuring that Indian manufacturers get high accuracy, reliable computerized output, and durable construction at practical, accessible pricing.
This phase helped us build custom machines and improve every segment—mechanical, software, and electronics.
Growth, Innovation & Expanding Product Capabilities
While many businesses slowed down during COVID-19, we used the period to accelerate product development—launching new tensile testers, medical testing instruments, and advanced electronics modules.
We strengthened every support area: design, R&D, electronics, software, and in-house manufacturing.

Our goal is to strengthen our R&D in mechanical design, electronics, software, and data logger development so we can deliver accurate, computerized, and easy-to-use solutions. We want to reduce India’s dependence on imported machines by offering reliable instruments with integrated data logging and modern digital capabilities at practical pricing. We have already started reaching multiple government departments and PSU units, and we plan to expand our presence across all major public sector segments in the country. To support Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, we remain focused on delivering standards-aligned instruments and data-driven testing solutions that are fit for tender and public sector requirements.

Meet Our Founder
The founder of Katpot Systems, comes from a simple middle-class family but has always carried a big vision. He started his business journey with very limited resources – only his knowledge, hard work, and a strong belief that Indian engineering can do much more than what the market expects. In the beginning, he worked alone and made his first instruments by himself, step by step. Whatever small amount he earned, he invested back into better tools, a proper setup, and slowly started building a dedicated team around him.
Today, Katpot Systems is not just my business – it is my dream. I want to build a company that people trust for its reliability, strong engineering, and modern, future-ready solutions. My aim is to grow this organization much beyond where it is today and to show that even a small start, with honest work and a clear vision, can create something meaningful and impactful for many people and industries.
